GLOBAL URBAN RESEARCH UNIT
February 20, 2007GLOBAL URBAN RESEARCH UNIT: The Global Urban Research Unit (GURU) is based within Newcastle University and provides a focal point for academics and researchers with an interest in urban and planning research. The Unit comprises three research centres: The Centre for Research in European Urban Environments (CREUE); The Centre for Architectural Research and Development Overseas (CARDO); The Centre for Urban Technology (CUT). Work within the Unit focuses on contemporary cities and the issues that surround these including ‘… globalisation, cultural diversification, economic change, mobility and ecological sustainability.’ The site provides information about staff members, individual research projects (both current and past), events, and publications.
